Refrigeration is sufficient for many air systems. Adsorption becomes relevant where much lower pressure dew points or cold networks require it. Target, inlet, load, regeneration and operating cost all matter.
Refrigerated dryers typically provide a pressure dew point around +3 °C and fit many general industrial duties. Desiccant dryers reach much lower values, often around −40 °C and lower depending on design. Select the lowest value the process, environment and downstream equipment actually require.
