Laser and fibre-laser cutting

Nitrogen for
laser cutting.

For laser cutting, nominal generator output is only part of the picture. Supply must reflect peaks, pressure, material mix and the actual production schedule.

01 Understand the process

The machine alone
does not answer every question.

Material, cutting programs, nozzles, utilisation and production planning all affect demand. System design therefore starts with operating data.

Load profile

Short high demands and longer pauses require a different approach from a steady continuous load.

  • separate peaks from averages
  • shifts and job mix
  • simultaneous consumers

Pressure and interface

Generation, compression, storage and pipework must create the required condition at the machine together.

  • distance and pipe size
  • storage and booster concept
  • existing infrastructure

Gas quality

Required gas quality follows material, cutting goal and process specifications. Generic figures do not replace a machine test.

  • include manufacturer guidance
  • make quality measurable
  • define acceptance conditions
02 Supply concept

Connect generation, storage
and the cutting machine.

A laser-cutting project is a supply system. Compressed-air quality, buffer volume, pressure increase, pipework and reserve supply may all matter.

Generate on site

On-site generation can reduce delivery logistics. Technical and commercial fit must be checked against real demand.

Buffer peaks

Storage and operating strategy help manage fluctuating use. Sizing remains project-specific.

Define reserve

An additional supply route may remain useful where production criticality requires it.

03 Project route

From consumption data
to a dependable concept.

MX Solutions gathers the technical data, checks system boundaries and coordinates a suitable configuration with the parties involved.

Capture data

Document machine, material mix, consumption, pressure, running time, location and existing compressed air.

Coordinate the concept

Assess generation, treatment, storage, pressure stage and interfaces as one system.

Support implementation

Supply, technical coordination and service are managed within the agreed project scope.

04 Questions

Common questions,
straight answers.

Does every fibre laser need its own nitrogen generator?

No. The case depends on consumption, production profile, supply cost, space and technical infrastructure.

What purity and pressure are required?

That depends on machine, material, thickness, cutting goal and manufacturer specification. MX Solutions does not apply generic values without application data.

Is a generator enough without storage or pressure increase?

Only the load profile and machine interface can answer this. Generation, storage, pipework and any pressure increase must be reviewed together.

05 Laser project

Peak demand, pressure and reserve
must work together.

For fibre laser cutting, neither average consumption nor a generic purity value is enough. Supply must match the real cutting plan at the machine interface.

Machine and production data

  • manufacturer, model and machine count
  • materials, thicknesses and typical programs
  • gas requirements confirmed by the responsible process
  • measured demand or reliable machine data
  • simultaneous operation and expansion plans

Supply chain

  • available compressor and compressed air
  • generator output at required quality
  • buffer or high-pressure storage for peaks
  • possible boosting and pipework
  • reserve supply for defined operating cases
Boundary: gas and process limits come from machine, material and process requirements. MX Solutions designs supply against those confirmed inputs.
Next step

Planning a laser project?
Machine data is enough to start.

Send the machine model, material mix and any consumption records. MX Solutions will identify what is still needed for a sound pre-assessment.
